フランスの70年ほど前のハンティングジャケットです。まだハンティングが高級な趣味だった時代に、工場での大量生産ではなく、テーラーで注文仕立てで作られた物。高機能と高性能を追い求め、化学繊維とファスナーとvelcroで構成された現代のハンティングウェアが捨て去ったものが、たくさん残っていた頃のジャケットです。

This hunting jacket is about 70 years old from France. It was made by tailors to order, not mass-produced in factories, at a time when hunting was still a high-class hobby. In the pursuit of high functionality and performance, this jacket was made of synthetic fibers, fasteners, and velcro, many of which have been discarded by modern hunting wear.

襟の形を、殆どのハンティングジャケットに見られるバルカラーでは無く、テーラードカラーで仕立てた珍しい形のジャケットには、仕立て主の遊び心と洒落っ気が見て取れます。

狩りの獲物を入れるゲームポケットが作られていないジャケット。それの意味するものは、元のオーナーが獲物を自分で運ぶ必要のない人(使用人や部下に運ばせることができる人）か、ゲームポケットに入る小型の野ウサギや野禽類の狩りをせず、鹿や猪といった大型の四つ足動物だけを獲物として狩りをする人だったのでは？と言う事です。大型の四つ足動物の狩りは、野ウサギなどよりも狩りとしてゲーム性が高く、長らく貴族階級にしか許されない狩りでした。
