End of 19th Century Antique Hand Woven French Linen Fabric Made Tote Bag

農家のスモック、ベッドリネン、ラグ。1世紀以上も前に織られたフランスのリネン。

フランスで、まだリネン作りの全ての工程が行われていた頃の生地です。

Farmhouse smocks, bed linens, and rugs; French linens woven more than a century ago.

These fabrics were made in France when the entire linen-making process was still being carried out.

亜麻から生地を作り出すための、栽培、収穫、乾燥、浸水による発酵を利用した製繊（温水によるWATER RETTINGか土の上での雨露で発酵させるDEW RETTING）、茎の余分な部分を砕いて取り除くスカッチング（Scutching）、繊維を整え選り分けるハックリング(hackling)、湿式（wet spinning）あるいは乾式(dry spinning)による精紡、織布、整理。

Cultivation, harvesting, drying, and soaking to produce a fabric from flax (WATER RETTING with warm water or DEW RETTING with rain dew fermentation on the soil).

Scuttching to remove excess stem material, hackling to prepare and sort the fibers, spinning, weaving, and sorting by wet spinning or dry spinning.

機械化率も低く、多くは人の手と目で行われた複雑な工程の数々と、今よりもずっと多くの時間をかけられた、今では再現不可能な趣溢れるテクスチャーが綺麗です。

The intricate processes, many of which were carried out by hand and eye, and which took much longer than they do today, produce beautiful textures that are impossible to reproduce today.

そのリネンの風合いをそのままに、数種の生地を組み合わせ、穴や生地の擦り切れをdarninngで埋め、パッチで塞ぎ

The texture of the linen is preserved in this tote, which is made by combining several kinds of fabrics, filling holes and frayed fabrics with darninng, and sealing them with patches.

The result is a tote.

持ち手もひたすらちくちくと。手で下げでも肩にかけても良い長さの持ち手。

The handles are also made of stitches. The handles are long enough to be carried by hand or over the shoulder.

内張りには適度な張り感と皺と素朴な風合いが楽しいインドのコットンをまつりつけ、使いやすいサイズに仕上げました。

The interior lining is made of Indian cotton, which has a moderate tension, wrinkles, and a rustic texture, and is finished in an easy-to-use size.

内ポケットも古いリネンとラスティックコットンの2枚仕立てを手で縫い付けたもの。口布のトリミングも古いindia ink染の生地から切り出したものです。

The inside pocket is also made of two pieces of old linen and rustic cotton, sewn together by hand. The trimming on the mouth cloth is also cut from old india ink dyed fabric.

内張りの取り付けも手のまつり縫い。縫い皺がこのかばんのやわらかでふくよかな表情をさらに高めます。
