The fabric is Herringbone, a vintage French Linen & Silk brand

フランスのリネンと組み合わされたシルクは、シルクの中でも野蚕糸と呼ばれる柔らかで優しい肌触りの素朴な糸。少しザラつきネップのある風合いが魅力的なもの。

The silk combined with French linen is a type of silk called wild silk, which is soft and gentle to the touch. It has an attractive texture with a slightly rough nap.

狭幅の生地しか織れなかった古い織機の生地を、幅を広くして使うために農家の奥さんなどが、手で丹念に縫い合わせて繋いでいた頃の趣のあるステッチをモチーフにした背中のステッチ。

The stitching on the back is based on the quaint stitching from the time when farmer’s wives and others would painstakingly sew together fabric by hand to make it wider for use on old looms that could only weave narrow fabric.

ボタンホールも全てリネンコードを使った手縫です。ミシンでは作り出せない味わいを持ったもの。

All buttonholes are also hand-stitched using linen cord. They have a taste that cannot be created with a sewing machine.
