Based on the Bauhaus principle of “form follows function,” Massimo Osti has always sought products with functional beauty. He focused on the unique functionality and materials of military wear, collecting archives and reconstructing, reinterpreting, and developing the details to open up a whole new world.

アパレル企業としては前代未聞の、社内に染色作業を行う為の施設を設け常勤で化学者を雇うということまでやってのけてこだわった、様々な種類の布地や繊維を使用した衣類を一度で染め上げる、 ” GARMENT DYE ” の歴史において初となる染色技法を開発したMassimo Osti

Massimo Osti developed the first dyeing technique in the history of “GARMENT DYE” that dyes clothes made from various types of fabrics and fibers in one go, an unprecedented feat for an apparel company, by setting up an in-house dyeing facility and even hiring a full-time chemist.

上質でありながらあえて素朴さを残す紡績を経て作られた糸で両畦編みされた目の詰まった編み地のニットをALTERATIONしたジャケットです。

This jacket is an alteration of a tightly knitted double rib knit made from yarn that has been spun to create a high-quality yet deliberately rustic look.

縫製糸と少し入り混じった編み糸に含まれる糸の様々な色差を緻密に計算した上で、Massimo Ostiが開発し育て上げた ” GARMENT DYE ” することで作り出された深みのある複雑なネイビーカラーのニット

This deep, complex navy knit is made using the “GARMENT DYE” developed and cultivated by Massimo Osti, after carefully calculating the various color differences of the knitting yarns mixed with the sewing yarn.

CP COMPANYらしさが伝わるミリタリーのニットから派生したルーツを感じさせるリンキングや裾などの強度を高める為のオーバーステッチのディティール。

The details include linking that evokes CP COMPANY’s roots in military knitwear and over-stitching at the hem to increase strength.

アウターとしての防寒性やポケットなどの機能、着やすさを高めるために内側につけたライニング。ラスティックなコットンブロードは、適度な張りとシワ感が有り、インドで織られた素朴な糸の表情が魅力です。

Lining attached to the inside to enhance warmth as outerwear, functionality such as pockets, and ease of wear. Rustic cotton broadcloth has a moderate tension and wrinkle, and the rustic look of the yarn woven in India is appealing.

ジャケットの機能を高める丸いフォルムと膨らみが味のある内ポケット。味わいと清潔感を与えるコントラスト。

ライニングを留め付けたvintageの太いリネンコード。手仕事ゆえのステッチの意図せぬ自然な乱れが生むリズム。

Vintage thick linen cords fastened to the lining. The rhythm created by the unintentional and natural disorder of the stitches due to the handwork.

ニットの伸び縮みする良さと、柔らかさを邪魔しないために、ライニングの裾はとめずに浮かせた状態。

To preserve the flexibility and softness of the knit, the bottom of the lining is left unfastened.

大きなアームホール、広めの肩幅、80年台らしいゆったりと体を包み込む柔らかなフォルムの1枚です。

This piece has large armholes, broad shoulders, and a soft shape that wraps around the body loosely, typical of the 1980s.

プラケット部分をぐるりと取り囲んで手縫でpatchしたvintageやantiqueのインディゴ染めのリネン。

リネンの糸の違い、生地の織り方の違い、フランスの中でもそれぞれの地方の違い、インディゴの染色方法や染料の違い、作られた年代の違い・・様々な違いで魅せてくれる時間の風景

The differences in linen threads, the weaving methods of the fabric, the differences between regions in France, the indigo dyeing methods and dyes, the differences in the years they were made…these differences create a fascinating landscape of time.

控えめに色を主張する糸を使って、1-1.5mmの細かなステッチで縫い上げたpatch。ハンドパッチによく用いられる端部が切り放しの生地の使い方や、刺し子の手法に見られる、生地の色に頓着しない太い色糸の大ぶりなステッチとは、全く違う方法と仕上がりです。

This patch is stitched with fine stitches of 1-1.5mm using threads that discreetly assert their color.

This is a completely different method and finish from the use of fabric with cut edges often used for hand patches, or the large stitches with thick colored threads that do not care about the color of the fabric, as seen in the sashiko technique.

ボタンはデッドストックのvintageのcorozo(主にエクアドルのタグワ椰子)。その実の種子の中の胚乳部分を加工して作られた趣のあるボタン。

The buttons are made from deadstock vintage corozo (mainly from Ecuadorian tagua palms), using the endosperm inside the kernel to create these tasteful buttons.

19世紀から1950年代のプラスティック開発以前に、滑らかな手触りと硬さ丈夫さ染色性の良さを利用して、盛んに作られていたボタン。

From the 19th century until the 1950s, before the development of plastic, buttons were widely produced, taking advantage of their smooth feel, hardness, durability, and good dyeability.

vegetable ivoryの呼び名通りの乳白色の実を削って加工される何とも言えない丸みと、乳白色のベースを染める事で生まれる優しい色合いの魅力。見た目に反してしっかりした質感と重みを兼ね備えた、味わい深さを持ったボタンです。

As the name “vegetable ivory” implies, this button has an indescribable roundness created by shaving milky white berries, and the charm of the gentle coloring produced by dyeing the milky white base. Contrary to its appearance, this button has a solid texture and weight, and has a deep sense of taste.
